It is recognized that in order to ensure the sustainability of economic development in the long term, it is very important to know the potential of regional excellence as a whole as a reference for various policies that are formulated as well as relevant and appropriate programs and activities. Therefore, regional development planning requires accurate and precise data and information about the superior potential of the region. The availability of such data/information is expected to be able to provide a picture of the economic potential of the region so that economic development pattern policies can be determined, both sectorally and multisectorally. Mapping the superior potential of the local economy can be done by identifying the superior potential of the economic sector, this identification can include identification of the sectoral potential of natural resources, human resources, culture, tourism and other sectors.
