The Five Pillars of Islam are the fundamental principles of Islamic teachings, consisting of five pillars: the shahada, prayer, zakat, fasting, and hajj. Their importance lies at the foundation of life as a Muslim. This study aims to understand the meaning of the five pillars of Islam, their position within Islamic teachings, and the legal consequences for those who neglect them. Furthermore, this study also discusses the consequences, both in this world and in the afterlife, for individuals who fail to fulfill them. The results of this discussion indicate that neglecting the five pillars of Islam, especially intentionally, has serious consequences from an Islamic legal perspective. Scholars agree that neglecting certain pillars of Islam, such as prayer, can have a significant impact on a person's faith. Furthermore, there are differing views regarding the legal status and level of sin for those who neglect them. These consequences not only impact spiritual life in this world but also affect the afterlife. Therefore, fulfilling the five pillars of Islam is an obligation that must be upheld by every Muslim as a form of obedience to Allah SWT.
