<![CDATA[This study aims to determine the role of guidance and counseling teachers in overcoming students' smoking behavior. It also seeks to identify the supporting factors used by guidance and counseling teachers in assisting eleventh-grade students of the TKR (Light Vehicle Engineering) major at SMK Negeri 6 Takalar in influencing their smoking behavior. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type of study. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that guidance and counseling teachers at SMK Negeri 6 Takalar perform their roles optimally as facilitators, motivators, and counselors. They apply an educational and empathetic approach, not only focusing on school regulations but also listening to students’ reasons for smoking and understanding their backgrounds. Supporting factors include the implementation of strict rules and reporting to authorities to create a deterrent effect, as well as collaboration with homeroom teachers and the principal. Guidance and counseling teachers play an important role in providing understanding about the dangers of smoking and guiding students toward positive behavioral change, supported by educational sanctions and cooperation with the local health center (puskesmas).]]>
