Self-evaluation is an essential component in the management and development of high-quality Islamic educational institutions. This article examines in depth the concept of self-evaluation from a theoretical perspective based on authoritative international literature. By employing a library research approach, this study explores the general concept of evaluation and subsequently narrows its focus to self-evaluation as a reflective practice within an institutional context. The findings indicate that self-evaluation is not merely an administrative mechanism, but rather an epistemological process that encompasses aspects of awareness, critical assessment, and continuous institutional improvement. A comprehensive understanding of the concept of self-evaluation serves as an important foundation for Islamic educational institutions in building a systematic and sustainable quality culture.
