<![CDATA[The important role of education as a necessity in obtaining the knowledge and education required by every student from the initial education level to the higher education level, each field of science provides different knowledge, including citizenship education which includes political education, law, democracy, social culture, the Constitution, and Pancasila where in the application of this knowledge, character education for citizens in accordance with national culture is taught as the goal of citizenship education, the field of citizenship education has a special role in character education apart from other education which also includes character education such as religious education and guidance and counseling education. Character education in citizenship science includes the values contained in Pancasila as the main guideline for character education in students with understanding and implementation of Pancasila values in everyday life being the main basis for the character of citizens. Apart from that, it teaches character education regarding community culture. By using the literature study research method, which can provide a discussion of citizenship education which is the basis of national character, we can understand the scope of citizenship education as education based on science as character education which shapes the character of citizens according to national culture.]]>
