<![CDATA[Background: Modern contraceptive methods are a crucial component of family planning programs to reduce birth rates and improve women's reproductive health. The use of modern contraceptives is influenced by various factors, including mothers' knowledge and attitudes toward contraception. Good knowledge of the benefits, how they work, and their side effects can increase mothers' interest in using them. Furthermore, a positive attitude toward modern contraception also plays a role in family planning decisions. Lack of knowledge and negative attitudes toward modern contraception can contribute to low use of modern contraceptive methods in the community. Method: This study employed an analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. A sample of 30 respondents was selected using purposive sampling. The research instrument used a questionnaire to assess knowledge levels, maternal attitudes, and use of modern contraceptive methods. Data analysis used the Chi-Square test with SPSS software. Results: Most respondents had a good level of knowledge (17 respondents (56.7%). Most respondents had a positive attitude (18 respondents (60.0%). Most respondents used modern contraceptive methods (20 respondents (66.7%). The results of the Chi-Square test showed a p-value of 0.003 for the level of knowledge and 0.001 for attitudes (<0.05), which means there is a significant relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes of mothers towards the use of modern contraceptive methods in the UPTD Popayato Barat Health Center area.
