<![CDATA[Background: Physical inactivity remains a major public health issue, contributing to metabolic disorders such as hyperglycemia and dyslipidemia. Aerobic exercise is one of the recommended physical activities to support metabolic control. This study aims to explore the relationship between aerobic exercise frequency and bood glucose and cholesterol levels in community exercise participants. Methods: this cross-sectional design was applied to 40 members of the ELS studio who had been participating in aerobic exercise for more than one month. Data were collected through interviews and biochemical tests for random blood glucose and cholesterol levels. Exercise frequency was categorized as irreguler (1x/week), less regular (2x/week), and regular (3x/week). Bivariate analysis was performed using the Contingency Coefficient, Kendall tau-b, and Kruskal-Wallis’s test where appropriate. Results: There was a significant association between exercise frequency and blood category (p=0.034), and between exercise frequency and cholesterol levels (p=0.027). Participants who exercised regularly were more likely to have normal glucose and cholesterol levels. Although the Kruskal-Wallis’s test did not reach statistical significance for either blood glucose (p=0.147) or cholesterol (p=0.057), the lower mean ranks among those who exercised regularly suggest potential clinical relevance. Conclusion: Regular aerobic exercise appears to be associated with better glycemic and lipid profiles. These findings support the role of community-based aerobic programs in metabolic health promotion, although larger studies are needed to confirm these associations.]]>
