This study was conducted to investigate the effects of AI dependency and loneliness on psychological well-being among individuals in the emerging adulthood stage. A quantitative method was employed using an online survey administered to 110 participants aged 18–29 who had experience using AI applications. The instruments used included the Dependency on Artificial Intelligence Scale (DAI), the UCLA Loneliness Scale Version 3, and the Psychological Well-Being Scale. Data analysis was conducted through item reliability and validity testing, outlier elimination, descriptive analysis, assumption testing, Pearson correlation, and multiple linear regression. The results showed that loneliness had a significant negative effect on psychological well-being, while AI dependency showed no significant effect statistically. These findings confirm that social and emotional factors play a greater role in the psychological well-being of emerging adults than digital technology usage patterns. This research is expected to contribute to the development of interventions that focus on strengthening social support to maintain mental health condition of the younger generation that use AI in daily activities.
