This paper examines the phenomenon of sea water and fresh water based on QS. Ar-Rahman 19-20 and QS. Al-Furqan 53. The phenomenon related to this letter is interesting to discuss because it contains many mysteries in it. In this study there are contradictions in several perspectives, namely the focus on QS. Ar-Rahman 19-20 and QS. Al-Furqan 53 with an example of the phenomenon in the Strait of Gibraltar. This research uses descriptive-comparative method with literature review. The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of the marine phenomena contained in the Qur'an and to gain knowledge about nature related to these phenomena. In addition, this study can also be used as a lesson for us to protect the earth and oceans. In some interpretations it says that Allah allows the salty sea and the fresh sea to flow side by side and meet, but do not mix each other because Allah has provided a dividing wall so that they do not cross each other's boundaries. But there are also those who find that the water does not mix because of the different characteristics between the two
