<![CDATA[The Indonesian government plans to become the center of the world's halal industry by 2024, but competition in the halal industry currently comes not only from Islamic countries but also from non-Muslim majority countries. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the opportunities and challenges of Indonesia's halal industry to become the center of the world's halal industry. This research is a descriptive study using a descriptive approach and secondary data from various information. The results of this study indicate that Indonesia's halal industry has opportunities from five aspects, namely aspects of global recognition, finance, halal tourism, halal food, and halal lifestyle aspects. There are three challenges that arise from external factors, namely, the number of competitor countries, the lack of uniformity in globally agreed Halal certification, and the inability of Islamic countries to set Halal product standards and internally consisting of low Halal awareness of the Indonesian people, problems with Law Number 33 of 2014 concerning Halal Product Guarantee, and the low competitiveness of the Indonesian people. In addition to these challenges, there are business opportunities in the halal industry that have not been realized by many stakeholders and regulators, limited supply of raw materials that meet halal standards, and limited understanding between producers. There are also obstacles facing Indonesia. This is related to inadequate infrastructure, differences in standardization and certification of halal products, and the large number of imported products entering Indonesia.]]>
