TITIK TEMU DARI SEBUAH PERBEDAAN: ANALISIS PERBEDAAN MAZHAB-MAZHAB FIQH

The definition of mazhab, according to terms, includes two things: (1) Mazhab is the way of thinking or method adopted by an Imam Mujtahid in determining the law of an event based on the Qur'an and Hadith; (2) Mazhab is a fatwa or opinion of an Imam Mujtahid regarding the law of an event taken from the Qur'an and Hadith. This study uses the library research method, namely, collecting data from various sources and analyzing the data. Among the Sunnis, there are several well-known schools of thought, namely Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi'i, and Hambali. There are two schools of fiqh among the Shiites, namely Zaidiyah and Ja'fariah. But what is still developing now are the Ja'fariah and Syi'ah Imamiyah schools. The schools that have disappeared are about five, including the Auza'i School, the Ats-Tsauri School, the al-Laits School, the Zhahiri School, and the Thabari School.
