There are different opinions regarding receiving prize money from competitions in Islamic perspectives. Some scholars believe that it is permissible to receive prize money from competitions as long as the competition is not related to gambling and the prize is not haram. However, some scholars believe that competitions with prizes are not allowed except for certain types of competitions such as archery, horseback riding, or camel racing. It is also mentioned that prize money from competitions that are related to gambling or involve haram activities is considered haram. A study on the source of prizes in online game competitions found that the prize money comes from the registration fees.
