<![CDATA[The advancement of life in Indonesia, which is progressing, has impacted individual lifestyles, especially among students. Students, as a group pursuing higher education, have various life needs that need to be met during their academic and daily lives. Online social gatherings have become one of the options for students to save money to meet their needs. The research aims to understand the lifestyle of members of online social gatherings, assess the extent of online social gatherings contribution to students lifestyles, and examine the Islamic economic perspective on the practice of online social gatherings at the Faculty of Economics, Lambung Mangkurat University. The qualitative-descriptive research method involves 17 participants from social gatherings at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Lambung Mangkurat University. Data were collected through direct interviews with participants. The study indicates that the lifestyle of students participating in online social gatherings tends to be hedonistic. Although online social gatherings provide benefits to their members, an Islamic economic review suggests that the online social gatherings system is not permissible due to the presence of riba elements]]>
