aklim serves as a strategic non-formal educational institution that not only provides religious learning but also has the potential to become a center for family education. However, the activities of majlis taklim in Gegesik District, Cirebon Regency, are still predominantly focused on religious studies and have not optimally strengthened parents' competencies in child-rearing. This community service program aimed to improve participants’ knowledge and skills in implementing social character-based parenting while reinforcing the role of majlis taklim as a community-based family empowerment center. The program employed the Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) approach, consisting of needs assessment, module development, participatory training, mentoring, evaluation, and monitoring. A total of 45 participants from three majlis taklim were involved in the program. Program effectiveness was evaluated using a one-group pretest-posttest design and analyzed through descriptive quantitative methods. The findings indicated that the participants’ average competency score increased from 63.3 to 86.9, representing a 37.3% improvement with a moderate N-Gain category. Participants also demonstrated positive changes in parenting practices, including improved family communication, parental role modeling, and the cultivation of children's social character. The program produced a social character-based parenting module and established a parenting discussion group to ensure program sustainability. These findings demonstrate that empowering majlis taklim through parenting training effectively enhances family capacity while strengthening its role as a sustainable community-based family education center
