Sleep disorders involve disturbances in sleep duration, quality, or timing, including insomnia, hypersomnia, and excessive daytime sleepiness. These problems are common among female adolescents aged 13–20 years and may affect daily functioning. Good sleep hygiene is expected to help reduce sleep pattern disturbances in adolescents. This study aimed to determine the effect of sleep hygiene on sleep pattern disturbances among female adolescents at Pondok Pesantren Tahfidzul Qur’an Al-Qodr. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design was used, involving two groups with pre-test and post-test measurements. The sample consisted of 42 female adolescents selected through purposive sampling. Sleep hygiene was implemented for 7–8 hours. Data were analyzed using univariate analysis and the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. Before the intervention, sleep pattern disturbances in the intervention group were mostly categorized as moderate and poor. After the intervention, the categories improved toward moderate and good. In the control group, sleep disturbances remained mostly in the moderate and poor categories before and after observation. The Wilcoxon test showed a significant difference between pre-test and post-test results in the intervention group (p = 0.000 < 0.05). In contrast, the control group showed no significant difference (p = 0.224 > 0.05). These findings indicate that sleep hygiene has a significant effect on improving sleep patterns among female adolescents. Boarding school administrators are encouraged to create a supportive dormitory environment and establish rules that promote healthy sleep habits among students.
