Cholelithiasis is a condition caused by the formation of gallstones due to the precipitation of bile components. Type 2 diabetes mellitus is thought to increase the risk of cholelithiasis and altered bile metabolism through insulin resistance. This study intends to analyze the relationship between type 2 diabetes mellitus and cholelithiasis. An analytical observational study with a cross-sectional design was conducted using medical records from 150 patients aged over 40 years who visited the Internal Medicine Outpatient Clinic at Budhi Asih Regional General Hospital (RSUD) between January and December 2025. The Chi-square test was used to analyse the data. The findings demonstrated a significant relation between type 2 diabetes mellitus and cholelithiasis (p=0.040). These results highlight the importance of risk factor management and early identification in individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
