<![CDATA[Key ideas in healthcare and tourism management include service quality, perceived value, contentment, trust, and re-visit intention because they directly affect the sustainability and competitiveness of service companies. Empirical evidence demonstrating that the connections between these characteristics are not always consistent across countries and service types highlights the need for greater context-specific research in developing nations. Using a thematic narrative review approach, eight important papers published in Scopus/Web of Science-indexed journals between 2021 and 2026 were analyzed to find patterns of consistency and inconsistency in the interactions among components. Five main findings emerged: (1) service quality dimensions typically boost perceived value and satisfaction; (2) waiting time is a dominant factor in Indonesia; (3) patient trust can predict outcomes more strongly than service quality in private dental clinics; (4) perceived value does not always significantly affect satisfaction, challenging classical models; and (5) destination image can mediate the link between hospital value and re-visit intention in medical tourism. The service quality, perceived value, satisfaction, trust, re-visit intention relationship model is found to be highly context-specific; consequently, future research should compare the efficacy of interventions targeted at enhancing trust versus functional service quality and investigate the role of sociodemographic moderators.]]>
