Abstract

For 91% of the world's population, the air environment is very bad because it exceeds the threshold set by the World Health Organization. The global transportation sector is experiencing major changes towards sustainability and innovation because it is one of the contributors to air pollution. This research focuses on convertible electric motorbikes which have many advantages compared to conventional motorbikes such as having greater torque, minimal maintenance, and emitting no exhaust emissions. The method used in this research is analyzing the forces that occur on conventional motorbikes, analyzing wheel rotation speed, analyzing gearboxes and CVTs as a starting point for determining the type and specifications of the electric motor used, designing the left crankcase for the electric motor mount, designing the mechanism. construction of a connecting jow-clutch between the electric motor and the primary pulley mounting shaft, making a prototype of the left crankcase along with the components of the clutch mechanism and the primary pulley mounting shaft, and carrying out experimental testing on a motorbike. Replacing parts only takes 2 hours to convert a motorbike of this type. The results of static experiments in this research are that the effective power produced by a converted motorbike is 593.61 Watts at a torque of 1.71 Nm at 3317.63 rpm. In the dynamic experimental test, the convertible beat motorbike from a full battery position could cover a distance of 15.35 km until it was finished with a driver and passenger load of 146.5 kg. The convertible motorbike can accelerate from 0 to 51.43 km/h in 14 seconds.
