Abstract

AbstractAstra Isuzu Sales Operations Karawang branch is the official workshop of the Isuzu brand which is a PT network company. Astra International – Isuzu Sales Operations (ISO) which provides Analysis, Overhoul, Adjusting, Replacing, Retrofit, Periodic Service, Maintenance and so on. Lead time is an important factor to measure how long the work process takes to determine quality, of course, in an industry, time is money, the longer the work takes, the more time it will hamper other work. The problem that the author found was that it was difficult to remove the reverse switch sensor on the Isuzu Giga unit because its location was very difficult to reach using tools and very limited space. So far, technicians have used the Fukung 24 tool to remove it, but it took quite a long time, namely around 35 minutes, from As a result of the analysis carried out, the root of the problem can be identified, and to overcome this the author created the SST Switch Reverse Tracker Sensor to simplify and speed up the work with the processing time using the SST Switch Reverse Tracker Sensor being 8 minutes, making the work more effective and efficient so that the productivity of technicians and Workshop stalls are maximized and wasted time is lost.ektif dan Efisien, Sensor Switch Mundur, SST

Abstract

Pada proses konversi sepeda motor, dilakukan beberapa perubahan seperti desain penggerak, sumber energi bagi penggerak, wairing diagram kelistrikan dan display indikator sepeda motor. Dalam mengkonversi sepeda motor menjadi elektrik maka display asli sepeda motor tidak dapat digunakan untuk melihat level baterai dikarenakan bahan bakar yang sudah dikonversi. Penelitian ini bertujuan melakukan pembuatan komponen modul dengan biaya terjangkau yang diharapkan dapat merubah indkator tingkat level bahan bakar menjadi indkator tingkat level baterai. Metode yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini diantaranya melakukan studi literatur, membuat konsep desain modul indikator level baterai, perancangan dan pembuatan modul dan menganalisa hasil pembuatan modul. Dengan modul ini pengendara apat melihat level baterai sama seperti ketika melihat level bensin, indikator ketika bahan bakar perlu diisi sma dengan pemberitahuan isi baterai. Originalitas display pada dasbor sepeda motor tetap dipertahankan. Tidak perlu menambah atau merubah komponen tampilan di depan sepeda motor ketika memakai modul ini. Tidak merusak wiring kelistrikan diagram asli. Sangat mudah digunakan karna hanya terdapat 4 kabel keluaran saja yaitu kabel pada pin display, kabel ground, kabel power, dan kabel ke baterai. Dimensi modul yaitu 120 mm x 100 mm x 4 mm. Ukuran tidak memakan banyak tempat. Dapat dengan mudah diletakan didalam bodi sepeda motor sehingga tidak terlihat dari luar. Biaya pembuatan yang terjangkau hingga memangkas 47.82% - 66.25% dibandingkan dengan memakai modul display pabrikan khusus untuk sepeda motor elektrik.

Abstract

Engine management system saat ini semakin kompleks, dan pemahaman yang baik tentang teknologi ini penting bagi para mahasiswa Program Studi Mesin Otomotif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian 8 langkah perbaikan. Penelitian ini melibatkan partisipasi dari mahasiswa Program Studi Mesin Otomotif sebagai subjek dalam penerapan simulator throttle by wire sebagai media pembelajaran engine management system. Data yang terkumpul meliputi hasil pre-test dan post-test, serta tanggapan dari mahasiswa terhadap penggunaan simulator throttle by wire. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa simulator throttle by wire efektif dalam memudahkan mahasiswa dalam memahami throttle by wure. Dengan menggunakan simulator throttle by wire, mahasiswa dapat secara langsung berinteraksi dengan komponen dan proses yang terlibat dalam sistem. Selain itu, tanggapan dari mahasiswa terhadap penggunaan simulator throttle by wire secara keseluruhan sangat positif. Mereka menganggap simulator ini sebagai alat pembelajaran yang interaktif, menyenangkan, dan membantu mereka untuk lebih memahami konsep-konsep dasar dalam engine management system. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penggunaan simulator throttle by wire efektif dalam memudahkan mahasiswa dalam memahami prinsip dasar tentang engine management system. Dengan memudahnya pemahaman mahasiswa maka pembuatan simulator dapat diterapkan untuk mempermudah dalam penyampaian materi pembelajaran yang lainnya.

Abstract

In PT ADM Casting Plant, the use of compressed air is essential to operate several production machines that utilize pneumatic systems. The compressed air is sourced from the compressors owned by PT ADM Casting Plant. The compressed air must be dry and not wet or moist. If it is wet or moist, it can cause water to enter the air pipelines of the production machines and pose a corrosion risk due to condensation in the pneumatic lines of the production machines. Before entering the production machines, the compressed air must undergo several processes such as Suction-Storage-Drying. However, during the storage process, a significant amount of compressed air is wasted during the draining of condensed water accumulated in the Air Receiver Tank. The draining process still utilizes solenoid valves without any separator or divider between the condensed water and the compressed air, and it still relies on timing or time-based valve opening and closing as a benchmark. The wasted air results in difficulty achieving the desired air pressure produced by the compressor. Consequently, the compressor continues to operate to reach the predetermined air pressure. After analyzing the problem and available data, a solution was developed by replacing the solenoid valves with a Pneumatic No-Loss Drain. The purpose of this replacement is to serve as a separator between the condensed water and the compressed air during the draining process.

Abstract

The global energy crisis which is based on fossil-based energy security encourages efforts to make a just and sustainable energy transition. This study aims to explore and test the potential utilization of wind energy sources from Cooling Towers as an efficient and sustainable alternative energy source. Cooling Tower at PT Astra Daihatsu Motor is the focus of research because this company has implemented the Sustainable Development Goal's (SDG's) program which is in line with the goal of contributing to handling global problems, including in clean energy and tackling climate change. Wind energy from the Cooling Tower is analyzed using the wind power formula which produces a power of 1,373 watts at an average wind speed of 9 m/s from 1 hole in the Cooling Tower. To optimize its utilization, a HAWT (Horizontal Axis Wind Turbine) type wind turbine is installed in the Cooling Tower chimney. This turbine produces 425 watts of wind power with a power coefficient of 0.43 and a tip speed ratio of 9.7. PMSG (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator) type generator was chosen as a converter of kinetic energy into electrical energy. The implementation results show that the wind turbine can only produce 79.52 watts with a generator efficiency of 18.7% of the received wind resources. This research obtained electricity cost savings of Rp. 660,660/year and reduce TCO2 emissions by 0,416 TCO2/tahun. Utilization of wind energy sources from Cooling Towers shows potential as a sustainable alternative energy source. In addition to reducing dependence on fossil energy sources, the use of wind energy also has a positive impact on the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Abstract

A diesel engine is a machine known as an internal combustion engine which uses the heat of compression to ignite fuel that has been sprayed by a nozzle into the combustion chamber. The problem that often occurs in Diesel engines is interference with the fuel system. When these disturbances occur, trouble shooting must be carried out on the fuel system and periodic maintenance can be carried out to minimize disturbances to the Diesel engine fuel system. The Arduino Uno-based Diesel purging kit is equipped with digital parameters to read the turbidity level of the purging liquid so that it is expected to facilitate mechanics in the Diesel engine purging process and make it more efficient and effective. The test results show a graphic of turbidity during the first 5 minutes to 20 minutes there is a significant increase in the percentage of liquid turbidity. However, in the last minute of the process there was only an increase of 2% which means that the maximum result of the process touched the turbidity rate of 72%. After the procurement of the tool, the Diesel engine purging process cut the time by 30 minutes compared to before the tool was available

Abstract

PT Astra Daihatsu Motor-Engine Plant focuses on producing engines for Daihatsu vehicles and several Toyota vehicles. The Quality Inhouse-Section Audit System Development Department, which focuses on auditing the entire production process, found that the Exicom-Section Import Component Department's KPI had not yet reached the target in the productivity section due to a delay in supply to the k-line 5 assembly. The supply delay was due to the cycle time target of the stock taking process not being achieved (target 40 minutes and actual 63.1 minutes). Then, not achieving the target cycle time of the stock taking process is analyzed using fishbone analysis so that the root cause is found, namely PIC inputs twice for each data, final stock data input to pattern supply sheets and files, stock taking locations (on shelves, dolly transit, and dolly setting), and pattern supply files can only be accessed by a computer in the office import component. The author will address these four root causes with a website-based supply form pattern that will speed up the stock taking process so that the target cycle time (40 minutes) will be achieved

Abstract

Abstract-- Precise tightening of tie rod lock nuts is a crucial aspect in maintaining the safety and optimal performance of a vehicle's steering system. The primary challenge in this process is the impracticality of tightening using torque wrenches connected to shock wrenches due to limited accessibility and the difficult-to-reach location of the lock nuts. To address this obstacle, researchers have designed an effective solution in the form of a torque wrench extension made from S45C steel. This torque wrench extension allows technicians to tighten tie rod lock nuts that were previously inaccessible using shock wrenches, while also applying the required torque specified for the application. The objective of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of using the torque wrench extension to enhance the accuracy of tightening tie rod lock nuts at UPT Otomotif Politeknik Astra. Experiments were conducted by applying the torque wrench extension to several vehicles brought into the Automotive workshop at UPT Otomotif Politeknik Astra. Due to the inability to tighten lock nuts with shock wrenches, a direct comparison between the tightening using the torque wrench extension and conventional tightening methods could not be performed on the tie rod lock nuts. Therefore, the comparative tightening was executed on sample nuts. The research findings demonstrate that the utilization of the torque wrench extension significantly improves the accuracy of tightening tie rod lock nuts with lower error rates compared to conventional tightening methods. This discovery suggests the effective application of the torque wrench extension as a solution to enhance the accuracy of tie rod lock nut tightening, not only at UPT Otomotif Politeknik Astra but also at other locations. Implementing the torque wrench extension will effectively contribute to maintaining the safety and optimal performance of a vehicle's steering system while reducing the potential risks arising from improper tightening

Abstract

The process of removing and installing rivets when replacing the brake lining pad takes a long time. This process takes a long time because technicians still use manual methods, namely chisels and hammers. This research aims to reduce the time in this process by creating special service tools (SST). The method used is making 2D, and 3D designs, and stress analysis to determine the size and durability of the SST using Inventor 2023 software. Next, make an SST prototype and standard operating procedures (SOP) for how to use the SST Press Nail Rivet as a new procedure for removing and installing the rivets on the brake lining pad. This research was able to speed up the previously 8 hours 36 minutes, the workshop target was 7 hours 55 minutes. But the actual condition is 6 hours 50 minutes. Thus reducing lead time by 20% from the initial time. With the SST Press Rivet Nails on the Brake Lining Pad, the job of removing and installing rivets during the brake lining replacement process becomes faster and safer.Pada proses pelepasan dan pemasangan paku rivet pada pergantian brake lining pad membutuhkan waktu yang lama. Lamanya proses tersebut dikarenakan teknisi masih menggunakan cara manual, yaitu dengan pahat dan palu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengurangi waktu pada proses tersebut dengan membuat special service tools (SST). Metode yang digunakan yaitu pembuatan desain 2D,3D, dan analysis stress untuk menentukan ukuran serta ketahanan dari SST dengan menggunakan software inventor 2023. Selanjutnya membuat prototyipe SST dan standar operasional prosedur (SOP) untuk cara penggunaan dari SST Press Paku Rivet sebagai prosedur baru dalam melepas dan memasang paku rivet pada brake lining pad. Pada penelitian ini mampu mempercepat yang tadinya 8 jam 36 menit, target bengkel adalah 7 jam 55 menit. Tetapi kondisi aktualnya adalah 6 jam 50 menit. Sehingga menurunkan lead time sebesar 20% dari waktu awal. Dengan adanya SST Press Paku Rivet Pada Brake Lining Pad pekerjaan melepas dan memasang paku rivet pada proses pergantian brake lining menjadi lebih cepat dan aman.
