Shifting tourist preferences are driving the demand for a variety of interactive and memorable water-based recreational activities. The Parang Gombong area in Purwakarta Regency possesses significant potential for water tourism; however, its development remains suboptimal, characterized by a limited range of attractions that results in shorter tourist stays. This study aims to analyze the destination's current conditions, identify obstacles, and formulate strategies for developing water tourism attractions in Parang Gombong. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, utilizing data collection methods such as direct observation, documentation review, and in-depth interviews with boat tourism workers and tourists. The analysis utilizes the "4A" destination framework, comprising Attraction, Accessibility, Amenities, and Ancillary services. Findings reveal natural obstacles specifically water hyacinth infestations and structural issues, including road damage, a lack of restroom and prayer facilities in the core zone, and ticket prices perceived as excessive. The study recommends that management and local government accelerate the diversification of interactive water attractions, improve road infrastructure and lighting, rationalize ticket prices, and optimize social media-based digital promotion to foster sustainable destination management.
