Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is transmitted through the bite of Aedes aegypti, and the continuous use of chemical larvicides can harm the environment, so a safer natural alternative such as betel leaf (Piper betle L.) extract is needed. To determine the effectiveness of betel leaf extract as a natural larvicide against Aedes aegypti larvae mortality. A laboratory experiment with a post-test only control group design tested concentrations of 0.05%, 0.1%, and 0.5% plus a control, each with six replications over 24 hours, using 600 third-instar larvae. Data were analysed using one-way ANOVA, the Bonferroni test, and probit analysis for LC50/LC90. Mortality increased with concentration, namely 14.7% (0.05%), 56.7% (0.1%), and 91.3% (0.5%), with no mortality in the control group. ANOVA showed a significant difference (p = 0.00), and probit analysis produced LC50 = 0.142% and LC90 = 0.472%. Betel leaf extract is effective as a natural larvicide, with 0.5% the most effective concentration and recommended for community application, although further field trials are still needed to validate the optimal concentration.
