Abstract

This community service activity aims to introduce financial literacy and cultivate a saving culture among young children by transforming used items into creative piggy banks. The activity was conducted at TK Al Hidayah, primarily targeting early childhood students. The main issues addressed were the need to introduce the concept and function of money, develop saving habits, encourage frugal behavior, and raise awareness of reusing items that still have value from an early age. The activity employed an educational, participatory, and hands-on approach consisting of preparation, educational sessions, practical activities to make and decorate piggy banks, and evaluation. The materials were delivered using simple and interactive language covering money recognition, the function of money, the meaning and benefits of saving, and the importance of setting aside money for future needs. The results showed that the children participated enthusiastically and actively throughout the activities. The use of used items as creative piggy banks also made the learning process more enjoyable and meaningful for the children.
