JC citrus seeds are classified as semi recalcitrant, tending to lose viability relatively quickly after extraction from the fruit. Seed invigoration specifically seed priming is one method used to enhance physiological seed quality. This technique involves soaking seeds in a specific solution for a set duration prior to planting, thereby initiating physiological processes that support subsequent growth. This study aimed to determine the effects of coconut water concentration and soaking duration on the viability of JC citrus seeds. A factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was employed, featuring two factors: coconut water concentration (0%, 25%, 50%, and 75%) and soaking duration (3, 6, and 9 hours). Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA); significant effects were further analyzed using Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at the 5% level. Observed parameters included germination capacity, vigor index, growth uniformity, and growth rate. The results indicated an interaction between coconut water concentration and soaking duration regarding the seed vigor index, though no such interaction was observed for the other parameters. A 0% concentration with a 6 hour soaking duration yielded the highest vigor index for JC citrus seeds, at 19.7%
