Abstract

People's Business Credit (Kredit Usaha Rakyat/KUR) is an inclusive financing scheme for micro-enterprises; however, its distribution at BRI Mopuya Unit, Kotamobagu, is still faced with the risk of non-performing loans. This study aims to analyze internal factors (from the perspective of customers' human resources), external factors (from the perspective of banking human resources and the business environment), as well as the measures taken to address non-performing loans by BRI Mopuya Unit. This study employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with KUR customers experiencing non-performing loans and employees of BRI Mopuya Unit (Unit Head, Mantri/Account Officer, and credit administration staff), supported by field observations and documentation. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman interactive model, consisting of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing, with data validity ensured through source, technique, and time triangulation. The analytical framework of this study maps four main aspects: customer character and financial literacy, the implementation of the 5C principles and monitoring by bank officers, economic conditions and the business environment, and credit restructuring strategies. The findings are expected to provide a comprehensive overview of the root causes of non-performing loans from a human resources perspective and practical recommendations for the management of BRI Mopuya Unit to strengthen credit risk mitigation.
