Strategies for Managing Static Archives at the Archive Depot of the Malang Regency Library and Archives Office. This study describes the management of static archives at the Archive Depot of the Malang Regency Library and Archives Office. The objective of the study is to identify the processes, constraints, and improvement efforts in records management, spanning distribution, use, storage, and final disposition. The main issues identified include limitations in human resources, storage facilities, coordination with record-creating agencies, and the adaptation of the Records Retention Schedule (RRS) to new record types. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, using data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model. The results indicate that the management of static records has been guided by the Life Cycle of Records principles. However, the effectiveness of its implementation is still hampered by a shortage of archivists, a service system that remains manual, challenges in the physical preservation of records, and irregularities in the records transfer and storage process. Improvement efforts include strengthening coordination on records transfer and storage with local government agencies (OPD), enhancing human resource competencies through training, collaborating with third parties, and planning for the digitization of records. This study recommends strengthening archivists’ competencies, accelerating the digitization of records retrieval services, and updating the Records Retention Schedule (RRS) to make it more adaptable to evolving record types.
