<![CDATA[Perkembangan platform digital berbasis User Generated Content seperti Wattpad memudahkan penulis dalam mempublikasikan novel, tetapi juga membuka ruang bagi maraknya tindakan plagiarisme. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perlindungan hukum hak cipta terhadap plagiarisme novel di Wattpad serta menelaah tanggung jawab hukum platform dalam mencegah dan menangani pelanggaran tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode hukum normatif-deskriptif dengan pendekatan perundang-undangan dan konseptual, melalui studi kepustakaan terhadap bahan hukum primer dan sekunder. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa novel yang dipublikasikan di Wattpad telah memperoleh perlindungan hukum secara otomatis berdasarkan Undang-Undang Nomor 28 Tahun 2014 tentang Hak Cipta, namun penegakannya masih menghadapi kendala berupa sifat delik aduan, anonimitas pelaku, dan lemahnya pengawasan preventif. Di sisi lain, Wattpad sebagai Penyelenggara Sistem Elektronik Privat menerapkan mekanisme notice and takedown dengan perlindungan Safe Harbor Policy, sehingga tanggung jawabnya cenderung pasif-reaktif. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pembaruan regulasi serta penguatan teknologi pencegahan berbasis kecerdasan buatan untuk menjamin kepastian hukum bagi pencipta di ruang digital. Kata kunci: hak cipta, plagiarisme, novel, Wattpad, perlindungan hukum The rise of user-generated content (UGC) platforms like Wattpad has made it easier for authors to publish novels, yet it has also created an environment where plagiarism flourishes. This study aims to analyze copyright legal protections against novel plagiarism on Wattpad and examine the platform's legal liability regarding the prevention and handling of such infringements. Employing a normative-descriptive legal research method, the study utilizes statutory and conceptual approaches based on a literature review of primary and secondary legal sources. The findings indicate that novels published on Wattpad automatically receive legal protection under Law Number 28 of 2014 concerning Copyright; however, enforcement faces obstacles such as the nature of the offense (requiring a formal complaint), the anonymity of perpetrators, and inadequate preventive oversight. Meanwhile, as a Private Electronic System Provider, Wattpad implements a "notice and takedown" mechanism under a Safe Harbor Policy, resulting in a liability model that tends to be passive and reactive. Consequently, regulatory updates and the strengthening of AI-based prevention technologies are essential to ensure legal certainty for creators in the digital space.
