This study investigates the effect of loan term-period, guarantee, and financial literacy on loan return fluency, with loanee characteristics as a moderating variable at KSP Kopdit Pintu Air. It focuses on factors affecting members’ compliance in fulfilling credit obligations. The study applies a quantitative approach. As a result, it shows that, partially, the loan term period has a negative and significant effect on return fluency. This means that the longer the loan term, the lower the level of return fluency. On the other hand, both guarantee and loanee characteristics have a positive and significant effect, with collateral and the accountability of a loanee member’s personality as the main factors influencing payment fluency. Nevertheless, financial literacy does not significantly affect loan return performance on its own. In moderation tests, loanee characteristics can significantly strengthen the effect of guarantee and financial literacy on repayment performance. As a result, this indicates that financial literacy will be effective in increasing return fluency when supported by good loanee characteristics. On the other hand, the characteristics do not moderate the relationship between loan term period and return fluency. In addition, the study recommends that KSP Kopdit Pintu Air strengthen the characteristics assessment and ensure its availability in the credit risk mitigation process.
