This study aimed to determine the effect of the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) learning model assisted by animated videos on the communication skills of fifth-grade students in Social Studies at SD Mutiara Islami Plus. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method using a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample consisted of 44 students, comprising 22 students in the experimental group and 22 students in the control group. Data were collected using a communication skills observation sheet and analyzed through validity, reliability, normality, homogeneity, Independent Samples t-test, and General Linear Model analyses. The experimental group's communication skills increased from 71.48% to 93.86%, while the control group increased from 51.70% to 75.45%. The Independent Samples t-test showed a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference between the two groups. Furthermore, the Partial Eta Squared value of 0.777 indicated a strong effect size. Therefore, the STAD learning model assisted by animated videos significantly affects students' communication skills in Social Studies learning.
