Puting beliung events are local-scale atmospheric phenomena that develop within a short period, making them difficult to observe through surface observations alone. Doppler weather radar provides information on convective cell development and associated wind dynamics. This study analyzes the radar characteristics of a puting beliung event in Bandung City on 4 November 2025 using CMAX, CAPPI reflectivity, CAPPI radial velocity, Severe Weather Index (SWI), and Volume Velocity Processing (VVP). C-band raw radar data from the BMKG Purwakarta weather radar were analyzed before, during, and after the event. Reflectivity increased before the event, reaching approximately 35 dBZ in CMAX and 25 dBZ in the 4-km CAPPI, then decreased afterward. The CAPPI radial velocity showed an outbound velocity of approximately 4 m/s and an inbound velocity of approximately −5 m/s in close proximity, forming a velocity couplet. The SWI showed clustered convergence, while the VVP indicated greater variations in wind direction and speed between vertical layers. These findings show that wind dynamics were not always reflected by reflectivity intensity, emphasizing the importance of multiproduct radar analysis. However, radar observations could not fully capture the growth and formation process of the puting beliung.
