Abstract

Kalikatir Village RT 11 Dokare, Gondang District, Mojokerto Regency, has abundant potential in banana cultivation; however, banana peel waste has rarely been utilized. Plant pests pose challenges for farmers, while chemical pesticides carry risks to health, the environment, and crop quality. The program Optimization of Banana Peel Waste as Nabati Pesticide by Poktan Jaya was developed to maintain soil health and improve crop yields using the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach. The method involves ABCD stages: discovery, dream, design, define, and destiny, along with nine tools: Appreciative Inquiry, Mapping with Community, Transect, Mapping Asset through Transect, Leaky Bucket, Low Hanging Fruit, Venn Diagram, Flow Diagram, and Asset Pyramid. The process includes identifying local assets, education, workshops, and demonstrations for producing Nabati pesticide from banana peels. Banana peel waste is fermented into natural pesticide containing bioactive compounds such as flavonoids, tannins, and antioxidants for environmentally friendly pest control. The results indicate that Nabati pesticide from banana peels can reduce pest attacks, maintain soil microbial balance, and increase crop yields. The program also promotes community involvement, from waste collection, production, to pesticide application, while utilizing household waste and supporting sustainable agriculture
