<![CDATA[Ideally, archive description is carried out based on standards, because these standards act as a guide that ensures the description process is carried out consistently, accurately, and clearly. The International Council on Archives (ICA) has developed several archive description standards, such as ISAD(G), ISAAR(CPF), ISDF, ISDIAH, and Records in Contexts (RiC). This study aims to identify and explain the main characteristics of the archive description standards developed by the ICA: ISAD(G), ISAAR(CPF), ISDF, ISDIAH, and Records in Contexts (RiC), to provide understanding and convenience for archive managers in selecting and using standards to be implemented in their respective organizations. The method used in this study is a literature review derived from standard documents from the ICA, namely ISAD(G), ISAAR(CPF), ISDF, ISDIAH, and Records in Contexts (RiC). Changes in the archive description standards developed by the International Council on Archives (ICA) reflect a response to the dynamics of the development of the times and the demands of information technology. Of the five standards issued by the ICA, it is apparent that each standard is related to other standards, although they are intended for different purposes in each organization.
