This study aims to examine the impact of civil service recruitment and selection on the quality of employee performance during the COVID-19 pandemic in Bone Regency. The study employed a quantitative research approach using a questionnaire as the primary data collection instrument. The study population consisted of 50 civil servants in Bone Regency, and all 50 members of the population were included as respondents through exhaustive sampling. Data were analysed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS. The recruitment and selection process was assessed through four variables: Motivation, Skills, Expertise, and Knowledge, while Employee Performance Quality served as the dependent variable. The results indicate that Motivation, Skills, Expertise, and Knowledge have positive and significant effects on Employee Performance Quality. These findings indicate that the quality of civil service recruitment and selection is associated with the ability of government employees to perform their duties effectively during challenging circumstances such as the COVID-19 pandemic. The study concludes that strengthening motivation, skills, expertise, and knowledge in the recruitment and selection process can contribute to improving employee performance in Bone Regency.
