<![CDATA[Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) among pregnant women remains an important nutritional concern because it may adversely affect maternal health as well as fetal growth and development. One of the challenges in fulfilling nutritional requirements is the insufficient knowledge of pregnant women regarding the appropriate utilization of locally available food resources. This community-based program was conducted to improve pregnant women's knowledge and practical abilities in utilizing local foods and implementing the “Isi Piringku (My Plate) dietary concept as an effort to prevent and manage CED. The activities involved health education, nutritional counseling, food demonstrations, practical training, and continuous assistance provided to 40 pregnant women in Banualuhu Village, Pagaran District. Program effectiveness was assessed by comparing participants' knowledge through pre- and post-intervention tests and by measuring Mid-Upper Arm Circumference (MUAC). The findings demonstrated a substantial improvement in participants' nutritional knowledge. Before the intervention, only 22.5% of participants were categorized as having good knowledge, whereas this proportion increased to 95% following the program. Two pregnant women suffering from CED saw their MUAC measurements rise from 22 cm and 21.8 cm to 23.8 cm and 24 cm, respectively, following one month of mentoring. This activity demonstrates that education and the utilization of local foods have the potential to support the prevention and management of CED among pregnant women.]]>
