<![CDATA[A will is a legal instrument containing a person's wishes regarding their assets, which take effect upon their death. The registration of a will by a Notary in the Central Registry of Wills is crucial for ensuring legal certainty, guaranteeing the execution of the testator's wishes, and protecting the rights of the beneficiary. Failure to register a will can create obstacles to its execution, as demonstrated in Denpasar District Court Decision Number 218/Pdt.G/2021/PN Dps. This study aims to analyze the legal consequences of failing to register a will and the legal protections afforded to the beneficiary. The research employs a normative legal research method, utilizing the statute approach, conceptual approach, and case approach. The legal materials consist of primary sources—specifically legislation and Denpasar District Court Decision Number 218/Pdt.G/2021/PN Dps—and secondary sources, such as books, scholarly journals, and legal literature concerning wills, Notary obligations, inheritance law, and legal protection. All legal materials were analyzed qualitatively to derive systematic conclusions relevant to the research problem. The research findings indicate that the failure to register a will does not render the document invalid, provided that the formal and material requirements for its creation have been met.]]>
