Mathematics learning for lower-grade students requires an approach that aligns with the concrete operational stage of cognitive development. Initial observations at SD Swasta Pelangi Medan revealed that the addition operation learning outcomes of first-grade students remained low due to conventional teaching methods that lack the use of concrete media. This study aims to determine the effect of using spinning wheel media assisted by colored buttons on the learning outcomes of addition operations among first-grade students at SD Swasta Pelangi Medan. This research employs a quantitative approach with an experimental method, utilizing a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The research subjects are divided into two groups: the experimental group, which receives learning through spinning wheel media assisted by colored buttons, and the control group, which follows conventional learning. Data are collected through learning outcome tests, observations, interviews, and documentation, and subsequently analyzed statistically. Through the implementation of this concrete manipulative media, the expected results indicate that the use of spinning wheel media assisted by colored buttons has a positive and significant effect on improving the addition operation learning outcomes of first-grade elementary school students.
