This study is motivated by the low learning interest of students in the English subject, caused by the use of conventional teaching methods considered less engaging. This research aims to determine the effect of Animaker-based audio-visual learning media on the learning interest of eighth-grade students in the English subject at MTs Arraswad Cengal. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method was employed, using a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population consisted of eighth-grade students of MTs Arraswad Cengal, with a sample of 50 students selected through purposive sampling, divided into two groups: the experimental class (Class VIII A), which received treatment using Animaker-based media, and the control class (Class VIII B), which was taught using conventional methods. Data were collected through interviews, observations, questionnaires, and documentation. The research instrument was tested for validity and reliability prior to the main data collection, followed by normality and homogeneity tests as analysis prerequisites. Hypothesis testing was conducted using an Independent Sample t-Test, and the increase in students' learning interest was measured using the N-Gain test. The results showed that the experimental class achieved a significant increase in learning interest (from 55.20% to 86.80%, N-Gain 0.705/high) compared to the control class (from 53.60% to 64.40%, N-Gain 0.233/low), with an Independent Sample t-Test result of t = 12.845 > ttable = 2.011 and Sig. (2-tailed) < 0.001. Student response toward the media also reached a very high category (91.47%). These findings prove that Animaker-based audio-visual learning media has a positive and significant effect on improving students' learning interest, positioning it as an effective alternative medium for enhancing the quality of English language learning in schools.
