This study aimed to determine the effect of resistance band overhead press training on the arm muscle strength of students participating in the volleyball extracurricular program at SMP Kartika IV-1 Surabaya. A quantitative approach was employed using an experimental method and a One-Group Pretest–Posttest design. The study involved 20 students selected via total sampling. Arm muscle strength was measured using a push-up test, while the intervention consisted of resistance band overhead press training administered over six weeks with a frequency of two sessions per week. Data analysis was performed using IBM SPSS Statistics version 25. A Shapiro Wilk normality test indicated that the pretest and posttest data were normally distributed. Hypothesis testing using a paired-sample t-test revealed a significant difference in arm muscle strength scores before and after the training (t = −17.253, df = 19, p < 0.001). The results indicate that resistance band overhead press training can serve as an effective method for improving the arm muscle strength of students in the volleyball extracurricular program.
