This study examines the economic growth of OKU Regency by focusing on the role of the food-crop subsector. The research employed a literature study, focusing on data and information on the conditions of OKU Regency compared with those of South Sumatra Province during the 2015–2023 period. The collected data were analyzed using appropriate quantitative methods to identify comparative and competitive advantages and assess regional development potential, namely the Location Quotient (LQ) and Dynamic Location Quotient (DLQ) methods. The results indicate positive development potential for several food-crop commodities across subdistricts in OKU Regency. Corn was identified as a base commodity, with development potential in Lengkiti and Sosoh Buay Rayap Subdistricts. In contrast, rice requires particular attention, as a sharp decline has occurred across all subdistricts since 2019. The main areas with development potential for rice are located in eastern OKU Regency, namely Semidang Aji, Pengandonan, Muara Jaya, and Ulu Ogan Subdistricts
