This study aims to describe the listening learning process using an animated video about the history of Perjaya Dam among seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 02 Belitang III. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving one Indonesian language teacher and five seventh-grade students from class VII.A as research subjects. Data were collected through non-participant observation, structured interviews, and documentation studies, and were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which consists of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the learning process was conducted in three stages: pre-listening, while-listening, and post-listening, with all nineteen observation aspects fulfilled. The six-minute-and-four-second animated video was found to enhance students' motivation, concentration, and understanding of 5W+1H information, while also fostering students' emotional connection through local wisdom content. The challenges encountered included the speed of the video's narration and the absence of subtitles. The study concludes that the integration of animated videos based on local wisdom effectively supports meaningful and contextual listening learning in accordance with the Merdeka Curriculum.
