Background: Hypertension is one of the common health problems among older adults. Hypertension may be associated with various factors, including psychological factors such as stress. Among older adults, stress may arise from limitations in daily activities, concerns about health conditions and complications, and the demands of long-term treatment. However, the relationship between stress levels and hypertension among older adults needs to be examined based on the conditions of the local community. Purpose: To determine the relationship between stress levels and hypertension among older adults in Glagah Hamlet, Nglegi Village, Patuk District, Gunungkidul Regency. Method: This quantitative study employed a descriptive-correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. The relationship between stress levels and hypertension was analyzed using the Spearman rank correlation test. Results: The analysis showed a correlation coefficient of 0.192 with a p-value of 0.172. This indicates a positive relationship with a very weak correlation strength; however, the relationship was not statistically significant (p > 0.05). Therefore, there was no significant relationship between stress levels and hypertension among older adults. Conclusion: There was no significant relationship between stress levels and hypertension among older adults.
