<![CDATA[This study examines the concept and urgency of Management Information Systems (MIS) as an essential asset in supporting leadership performance and decision-making within educational institutions during the digital era. Systematically processed information is highly required by leaders to formulate precise, rapid, and rational operational and strategic policies. To investigate this, the research employs a descriptive qualitative. The focus of data and information collection is directed toward the application of fundamental MIS concepts and their urgency in supporting technical operations as well as transformational managerial functions within the academic community. The results indicate that leaders play three primary roles within the MIS ecosystem: distributing information in a coordinated manner, influencing the academic community through a transformational approach, and formulating data-driven decisions directly integrated with the campus Academic Information System (SIAKAD). Based on these findings, it can be analyzed that the optimization of this leadership role heavily depends on the standardization of technological infrastructure aiming for cheaper, better, and faster processing which must strictly be balanced with the readiness and quality of Human Resources (HR). Therefore, a leader's strategic policy must not be limited to merely providing a centralized information system. It must inherently encompass continuous technical coaching and training to strengthen policy acceptability and ensure organizational sustainability amidst the current wave of digital transformation.]]>
