Abstract

Nurses are one of the employees who contribute significantly to the success of the hospital as a good service provider and satisfy the community. Hospitals need to ensure that there is no overload, which can affect nurses' work level in providing nursing care based on caring behavior. This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of workload and caring behavior shown by nurses working in the inpatient unit of Sultan Agung Islamic Hospital Semarang. This study used a quantitative research design using a cross-sectional approach. This study was conducted in July 2024 with a total sample size of 72 nurses. The majority of nurses experience moderate workload with the highest physical demands dimension and good caring behavior with the lowest indicator in the connectedness aspect. The results of the Spearman rank statistical test obtained a p-value of 0.000 and r -.690, so it can be concluded that there is a strong and significant relationship between the level of workload and caring behavior of nurses in the inpatient room.
