Vehicle speedometer testing is an important component of vehicle type approval to ensure that the indicated speed is evaluated using standardized testing procedures. At the Indonesian Vehicle Testing and Certification Center (BPLJSKB), speedometer testing can be conducted using a static method with a speedometer tester or a dynamic method based on a GPS/GLONASS antenna. The different measurement environments and principles may produce variations in the resulting speedometer values. This study aimed to compare speedometer test results obtained using static and dynamic methods for a two-wheeled motorcycle under controlled testing conditions. A quantitative comparative method with an experimental approach was employed. Each testing method was repeated 25 times at reference speeds of 40 km/h and 80 km/h, resulting in 100 observations. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality and homogeneity tests, an Independent Samples t-test, and Cohen’s d effect size analysis. The results showed no statistically significant difference between the static and dynamic methods, with p-values of 0.15 at 40 km/h and 0.10 at 80 km/h. The mean differences were 0.13 km/h and −0.17 km/h, respectively, while the absolute Cohen’s d values were 0.41 and 0.47. These findings indicate statistically comparable results under the experimental conditions, although they do not establish full interchangeability between the two methods.
