A company’s financial performance is one of the important indicators for assessing its ability to generate profits. In food and beverage subsector companies, profitability, as measured by Return on Assets (ROA), is presumed to be influenced by the efficiency of asset utilization through Total Asset Turnover (TATO) and the ability to generate net profit through Net Profit Margin (NPM). This study aims to determine the effects of TATO and NPM on ROA in food and beverage subsector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2021 to 2025. The study employs a quantitative method using secondary data in the form of annual financial statements. The study population consists of 83 companies, while the sample was determined using the purposive sampling technique, resulting in 14 companies with 70 observations. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS version 25. The results show that TATO has a significance value of 0.480 > 0.05, indicating that it does not have a significant partial effect on ROA. Meanwhile, NPM has a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant effect on ROA. Simultaneously, TATO and NPM have a significant effect on ROA, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 92.3%, while the remaining 7.7% is influenced by other variables outside the study. Thus, NPM plays a more dominant role in increasing profitability than TATO.
