This study aims to compare the speaking skills of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 9 Surabaya after participating in project-based learning assisted by TikTok and conventional learning. The study employs a quantitative approach with a nonequivalent control group design involving 60 students. Data were collected through speaking practice tests and analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-tests, exploratory ANCOVA, and N-Gain. The results show that the experimental class's average score increased from 59.46 to 90.42 (N-Gain 0.76), whereas the control class's average score increased from 56.58 to 70.92 (N-Gain 0.33). The posttest difference between classes was 19.50 points and statistically significant, t(58) = 8.676, p < 0.001. ANCOVA indicated that the difference remained significant after adjusting for the pretest, F(1,57) = 105.635, p < 0.001.
