This study was motivated by the low reading and writing skills of third-grade students at SDI Betun Kota in Indonesian language subjects, where many students had not achieved the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM) of 75. This study aims to improve students' reading and writing skills through the use of animated video media. The research method applied was Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles involving 19 third-grade students. Data collection techniques included observation, testing, and documentation, analyzed using quantitative and qualitative descriptive methods. The results indicated a significant increase in the class average score, from 56.68 in the pre-cycle (5.26% mastery rate), rising to 64.42 in Cycle I (21.05% mastery rate), and reaching 79.47 in Cycle II with a classical mastery rate of 84.21%. Beyond academic performance, animated videos also enhanced student participation, confidence, and enthusiasm in basic literacy activities. Thus, animated video media is proven effective in enhancing reading and writing skills among primary school students.
