Employee performance is one of the important indicators in achieving organizational goals because it is related to employees’ ability to carry out their duties and responsibilities. This study aims to examine the influence of work discipline and work environment on employee performance based on previous research findings. The method used in this study is a literature review with a qualitative descriptive approach. The data were obtained from various relevant journal articles discussing work discipline, work environment, and employee performance. The results of the literature review show that work discipline has a positive relationship with employee performance. Compliance with working hours, organizational rules, procedures, and responsibilities can help employees perform their duties more regularly and support the achievement of work results. The work environment is also related to employee performance, particularly through safe, comfortable, and supportive working conditions. However, several studies have shown different findings, particularly regarding the partial effect of the work environment on employee performance. These differences may occur due to differences in organizational characteristics, working conditions, and other variables examined in each study. Overall, the results of the literature review indicate that work discipline and the work environment are relevant factors in supporting employee performance. Therefore, organizations need to pay attention to employee discipline and create a conducive work environment so that work activities can be carried out effectively and organizational goals can be achieved.
