Abstract

Gestational hypertensive phenotypes remain a critical catalyst driving global maternal and perinatal morbidity and lethality. Alongside standard pharmacological management, the clinical integration of structured pregnancy exercise is increasingly recommended as a non-pharmacological adjuvant to optimize maternal cardiovascular resilience and modulate arterial tension trajectories. This investigative endeavor aimed to analyze the definitive impact of structured physical exercise on blood pressure parameters among pregnant women presenting with hypertensive conditions at the Sagerat Public Health Center, Bitung City. Employing a quasi-experimental one-group pretest–posttest configuration, the study enrolled a total cohort of 15 hypertensive pregnant women captured via an exhaustive total sampling methodology. Hemodynamic tracking cataloged arterial tension metrics immediately prior to and following consistent engagement within the structured kinetic program. The empirical data were evaluated using descriptive computation and the non-parametric Wilcoxon signed-rank test anchored to a significance threshold of 0.05. The baseline assessment established a complete diagnostic saturation wherein 100.0% of the subjects exhibited hypertensive states, whereas post-intervention monitoring revealed that 66.7% of the cohort successfully transitioned to normotensive parameters, leaving 33.3% within the hypertensive corridor. Inferential analysis confirmed a highly significant down-regulation of blood pressure metrics post-exercise (Z = –3.162; p = 0.002). These outcomes demonstrate that structured pregnancy exercise serves as an effective, non-invasive therapeutic intervention for managing gestational blood pressure, highlighting its value as a permanent component within primary antenatal care services to improve maternal physical outcomes.
