<![CDATA[Adolescence is a transitional period from childhood to adulthood, marked by rapid physical, cognitive, and psychosocial development. In the digital era, adolescents’ development is closely connected to social media, which serves as a platform for expressing their identity and gaining recognition from others. TikTok is currently the most widely used social media platform among adolescents. With the wide variety of content available, adolescents are frequently exposed to posts related to beauty and physical appearance, which may lead them to engage in social comparison regarding their looks. Such comparisons often align with prevailing beauty standards and social pressure, causing individuals to indirectly evaluate and compare their bodies with others. As a result, they may feel worse about themselves, negatively affecting their body image. The impact of these comparisons depends on the level of self-acceptance individuals possess. Those with higher self-acceptance are better able to understand and accept themselves, allowing them to maintain a more positive body image. This study aims to examine the roles of social comparison and self-acceptance in predicting body image among adolescent TikTok users. The research involved 370 male and female adolescents aged 18 to 21. A correlational quantitative method was used with three measurement scales: the Iowa-Netherlands Comparison Orientation Measure (INCOM), the Unconditional Self-Acceptance Questionnaire (USAQ), and the Multidimensional Body-Self Relations Questionnaire–Appearance Scale (MBRSQ). Multiple regression analysis showed that social comparison and self-acceptance significantly contributed to body image, explaining 57.1% of the variance (F = 114.418, p = 0.001 < 0.05).]]>
