Abstract

Human resource management carried out by the company needs to be improved considering the large number of employees who lack loyalty. The criteria for the best employee can be assessed from several aspects such as responsibility, productivity, attendance, and discipline. In determining the best employee, a mathematical approach is required so that the selection results can be considered effective. This study aims to determine the selection of the best employee based on criteria established by the owner and employees of Evin Convection using the TOPSIS method. Data processing was conducted through the construction of a decision matrix, normalization, weighting, determination of positive and negative ideal solutions, distance calculation, and preference value determination. The results show that Ayin (A5) obtained the highest preference value of 1.00 and is therefore recommended as the best employee. The responsibility criterion contributed most significantly to the final result because it had the highest weight in the evaluation process. Thus, the TOPSIS method can be used as a decision-support tool in selecting the best employee to determine reward allocation in small industry Pekalongan. Keywords: convection, employee,  reward, TOPSIS
